Brian,
I looked at a 1966 A 30 in Florida that the owner had installed a textured
fabric wallpaper to the Formica bulkheads. This treatment was generally off
white in color and really improved the appearance of the boats interior. The
fabric had been installed in 1999 and was still in excellent condition. The
owner had single handed the boat and lived on her for three years time.

I know what you are thinking.......wallpaper yuck. Believe me the
installation was very neat and the finished product looked sharp. Think
about it. The prep time to install the wall covering is much less than for
paint and the fabric chosen had held up well.

My boat is number 133 and it has a mixture of solid teak and that God awful
woodgrained melamine laminate. I have bigger fish to fry at the moment but
when I get around to the interior I will consider looking into the fabric
wall treatment........notice how I avoided calling it wallpaper. It is an
appealing option.
