It's hard to see why roller reefing caught on in the first place.
Jiffy (slab) reefing is quick, easy (at least as easy as messing around
with the worm gear on roller reefing) and sets a much more efficient
main-or jib, for that matter. I have two sets of reef points in mine. If I
was going to do it over again, I wouldn't bother with the grommets along
the foot in the first set of reef points, just the two in the tack and clew
(with proper reinforcing)
