Silicone bronze is the normal recommended material for
the bolt which is used to replace the pin at the
bottom of the A30 rudder. I have a source of Monel
(Nickel-Copper Alloy 400) bolts of this size. Does
anyone know whether Monel is an acceptable material in
this application (strength, corrosion resistance,
etc)? Are there any compatibility problems likely
between Monel and stainless or bronze? Which is the
preferable material, Monel or silicone bronze?
