Some electronic brand names use proprietary communication protocols. It may not
be possible to hook up nmea to nav. There are a couple different versions of
nmea itself.

P.S. If it makes you feel any better, I've come to believe the GPS info. overlaid
on the radar is over rated as far as practical usefulness. GPS-or even better,
WAAS, talking to an electronic chart is what you want.
