And don't forget that our older boats often need frequent insurance surveys
(I am required to have one every three years!) and poor wiring is one of the
first things they will fail you on. I personally use a ratcheted crimp tool
AND solder AND put heat shrink over all but the very end of the terminal. I
also cannot emphasize enough the merits of using the tinned marine wire. I
have seen failures due to the 'green mush' several times.
