Ken, This is a terrible story. I once had someone cut and steal my wire 
rigging while the boat was wintering in a yard with the mast removed from 
the boat, so I know how he feels.

I do not know where to begin to look for a replacement A30 boom, so I am 
posting your note to the A30 Public List for help on this matter. Anyone 
else have any ideas?

it's Ken Stephenson here.....from the frozen North !
a few days ago I received a phone call (he doesn't have email!), from a chap
in Michigan.....and he told me this horrible story..
His A30 is wintering in a cradle, some place in Michigan, shrink-wrapped..
He recently visited his boat and found that the wrap had been cut, so he
boarded to examine and found that his boom, which he had placed on the  deck
had been REMOVED  !........he has no idea where to go and is of course
devastated..
It could not, of course, been a sailor that stole the boom ? ?...but this
fellow and his buddies seem to feel that it may have been stolen and cut up
and sold as scrap to make a few bucks =  drugs........who knows
After you think about this almost unbelievable story..it just stretches the
mind to think this could happen.....it did
He tells me his boom was not a roller furling boom, though he believes the
hull to have been built in 1965
Mike, are there any replacement booms being offered for sale or to become
available, such, that this guy could find a replacement ?...any comments ?
If you want I can give you his number or I can pass on the info...
