If you don't want your shaft to slide out and jam rudder,just install
stainless steel hose clamp on shaft ahead of stuffing box,or a shaft anode
close enough that any movement from flexible motor mounts will let shaft
move forward or backwards without touching stuffing box.If coupling comes
apart or shaft breaks shaft will only come back a little.Hope this helps
