Yes that is the purpose of the plywood, on the underside of the deck, but
the deck plate must be attached to the hull - I used a rod to the stem
(creating a knee) at the same angle as the inner forestay so there is no
vertical pull on the foredeck. The ply is to keep the twisting side load
down.

I think the working jib tracks are asking for trouble - if flown alone, I
would go to the genoa to rail - use a pendant to get it high enough to get
the right angle on the luff bisection. If flown with a partially furled sail
in tandem then the working jib tracks will need reinforcing for off shore
work - I haven't done that yet, but I don't like that much unsupported deck
getting that much load. I think it was an oversight in the design - maybe
I'm being over cautious, not being a structural engineer. Perhaps beefing
that area up would be enough with ribs or laminated beams to avoid a rod
tie-in in the cabin salon.
