David-

I would love to see pictures. Let me know if you get them put up on a
webpage somewhere.

George-

The insurance company is BoatUS. Have you or anybody else had other bad
experiences with them? Should I seriously look for another one? I was
told that BoatUS is a good insurance co. I am assuming that they want a
report on the lifelines because the surveyor put it in his report. Maybe
if I just tell them that I disagree with the surveyor and state my
reasons (which seem pretty clear: that attaching the lifelines to the
uppers is NOT common practice), then they won't insist on it anymore.

Thanks for the great replies!

Cruising the Chesapeake: A Gunkholer's Guide

My favorite Chesapeake Bay guidebook. While it mentions marinas,
it concentrates on anchorages--the kind of places I prefer to spend
my time. And in addition to listing shore facilities, it rates each
location for Beauty/Interest and Protection. This is the guide you
need to really cruise the Chesapeake Bay--a smorgasbord of small
  creeks and coves.
