[Alberg30] Exhaust system

I could do that but it is corrosion welded to the rest of the galv. 
pipe. would be junk after removing I had it cherry red trying to remove 
it this spring. I just ordered a new one from moyer..... I like the idea 
of bronze or stainless pipe for a replacement elbow  . Question I always 
shut my raw water seacock after shutting down worrying abount backflow 
into the motor but I have freshwater cooling ,no siphon breaker, 
waterlift muffler and the exhaust exit above the h2o line do I need to 
continue to shut it off? anybody
