[Alberg30] fuel vent / overflow

I placed the gas vent out the transom - so if it vents it don't vent on me.
I've wondered why the original design vented at the combing and not out the
back of the boat. Does it have anything to do with the dry exhaust that runs
all the way to the laz (which at the time I replaced with an exhaust that is
water cooled just after the manifold)?
