[Alberg30] engine raw water supply hose

Is there any reason why the old rubber raw water
supply hose for my Atomic 4 can't be replaced with
Shields type 148 white hose? The white Shields hose is
rated for underwater fittings, and has a smaller
outside diameter for the same inside diameter versus
rubber hose.
