They were recommending 6:1 purchase using 2 triple blocks. The triple block with becket and swiveling cam was around $300 and the other one was about $200. So it was clear to me that they were recommending something totally different than what I had. I think I will stick with the setup you suggest, and 1/2" line sounds fine, but I am now wondering how long it should be? The guy at Bacon's told me I needed 100', but that sounds excessive. What do you think?
