Tom,

Generally the Alberg in the earlier years did not have a stuffing box in the
rudder tube. This provides a space for water to seep into the cockpit when
motoring from prop backwash. A few Alberg owners have installed a stuffing
box in the rudder post, I deal with this since it doesn't occur that often
and I do not see that much water, guest on board thought we were sinking in
one case.  The other option install a teak cockpit grate.

Friends:

The water that has been seeping up through the tiller fitting in the cockpit

when the engine runs over 1500 rpm is getting MUCH worse. Can anyone direct 
me to the repair options I have seen here in the past? Can't find em.
