[Alberg30] Deck Coring - Epoxy

I have heard of two basic ways to do this:

I. Rip up the old deck fiberglass skin, tear out the old rotten
stinking core, clean, apply new resin or epoxy, new saturated core, new
resin and reinstall the cut out old skin or recover with new fiberglass
cloth.

II. Rip out the ceiling in the boat, tear out the old rotten stinking
core, clean, apply new resin or epoxy, new saturated core, new resin and
reinstall the cut out old skin or recover with new fiberglass cloth.

Choice I sounds like it could leave you with a rough and botched
looking job while choice II sounds like the crew could fall through the
deck if the new or replaced skin doesn't bond well structurally

What is anyone's sense of this?
