[Alberg30] Cockpit gratings

Has anyone fabricated a new teak cockpit grating from the kits available at 
marine stores? West Marine has kits that have the edge framing members only 
48 inches long (probably for shipping purposes?). From old pictures of our 
club boat "Emotional Rescue" , hull 303, it appears that the rear portion of 
the grating was "U"-shaped at the tiller. If the maximum teak length is 48 
inches, I suppose that one would make the grating in two sections which would 
make it easier to lift. Thanks for all of the wonderful, informative comments 
that I printed out from the archives.
