Do you have any pictures of the new mast head?

Dave,

Others on the list may have a number of ideas. If you have the main sheeve
located in the mast, the extrusions need to be shortened which also reduces
the luff of the head sail. I anticipated this problem before installing the
Pro Furl and had a new mast head made by Metal Mast in Putnam Ct. The cost
of the new mast head was $220 and well worth the expense, it cleaned up all
the blocks mounted to old mast head (1965)

I have some questions about what the Profurl NCI32 should look like when
installation is complete. the bottom line is this: When I hoist the upper
furler unit on the jib halyard, the jib shackle that attaches to the tang
runs all the way up to the block for the headsail but falls short of going
high enough to engage the tang because the tang is not long enough to engage
the wrapstop. ( I do not think that this will be a problem because there is
no halyard sticking out to wrap around the halyard anyway). Because of this,
I will have to have a few inches cut off the sail because the luff is too
long at present.

Here are my questions - is there a way to install the unit so that the tang
does engage the wrapstop? Have others rebuilt the top of the mast so that
the jib block is higher and engages the tang? Have I missed something or is
my arrangement - using the original location for the jib block a "normal"
result, given the assumptions I have made? Have others had this
problem/experience? I ask these questions because it just does not seem
right that the tang should not engage even though I do not think this will
be a problem for the reason I mentioned.

My sail maker suggested I try using the spinaker halyard for this purpose
because it was located higher, but the idea did not work.

Thanks in advance for any help. I will not see the sailmaker for sail
modifications until sometime next week
