[Alberg30] barrier bottom protection

I hope I am not too out of date for this discussion:

The few blisters Checkmate had were not visible until using a soft pad
grinder to remove old bottom paint

I ground down to gel coat 10 years ago; 'vented', flushed (with acetone),
and filled in (with polyester resin thickened up) a 1/2 dozen or so
blisters, then used epoxy barrier coat, finishing with vinyl based bottom
paint-I'd go with ablative now; vinyl appears to be an endangered species.

I keep the boat in the water years at a time; after 'sweep' grinding for new
bottom paint last year, no new blisters.

It appears there is a lot to this blister business that remains
mysterious....
