[Alberg30] It's That Holding Tank Thing Again (and Group Buy?)

I installed with two 5/8" vents and there is no odor at all. Bigger is
better, but these seem to work fine. USE GOOD HOSE!
Venting is why these tanks don't smell and flexible tanks reek.

I added #4 because the air vents weren't mentioned at all. On the
tanks in the previous group purchase, having the air vent fittings
on the top of the tank proved to be a problem for the older boats,
because the V-berth sits a little lower than in the new boats.
There was approx 1/4" inteference with the V-berth plywood.
The use of two vents instead of one is a suggestion of Peggie
Hall. See http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/phall.htm#oder
or http://www.raritaneng.com/Products/Holding_Tanks/Catht1.pdf
pages 3-4. You'll also note that Peggie recommends a 3/4"
(or even 1") vent line. If you use the standard 5/8" vent
line, but use two of them, you not only get better crossflow,
but the combined effective diameter is 7/8".
Yes, up higher is better, as long as the tank fits. Near the
fore-aft center-line of the tank is also better, as it keeps
the vents higher as the boat heels.
