Hello all - I need your opinions on a project which might benefit all
of us. I am considering setting up a marine retail operation which
will be available to members of the various message boards to which I
subscribe. Prices would be below retail, possibly quite a bit
depending on the product ordered.
The emphasis would be on properly solving customer problems through
the combined efforts of knowledgeable people on the board plus
whatever I and my staff can contribute to the discussion by way of
product suggestions, repair techniques and so on. We would then
source and provide the item (s) required at a discount to the marine
retail stores such as West Marine.
Marketing would be at an absolute minimum - to keep prices as low as
possible. In fact, most marketing would be via answering or
responding to your problems and repair, refit and maintenance
challenges through the message board itself and individual e-mails.
Please provide me with your opinions pro and con and any suggestions
on how this service could be made to work to your benefit. Thanks in
advance for your suggestions.
