The mast should be pushed as far forward as possible. If you notice the mast
sits on the after part of the support beam underneath. Pushing the mast
forward helps to center it over the beam.

Subject: [Alberg30] Hinged Mast Base

Albergers;

I am designing a hinged mast base for #148 and am interested the optimum
location for the forward edge of the mast in relation to the front of the
aluminum base plate. The original pot metal fitting that mounted to the
base was adjustable over a range of about 3". Any opinions as to the
benefits of a fore/aft adjustable base and what the adjustment range should
be.?

Thanks,

Roger Kingsland
