[Alberg30] (no subject): Interior varnish

Our messages must have crossed, but I have only used lemon oil as was
recommended by previous owner when I bought the boat five years ago. It
is my understanding that is the only thing that has been used on my
interior, including the floor, other than Murphy's Oil Soap. The
interior wood finish looks remarkably good. I personally don't think it
is as messy to work with as teak oil.

My boat probably looks better than most of the southern and salt water
boats as it sits in inside winter storage (and has all of its life) from
Oct through May.

Speaking of using oil, has anyone experience using lemon oil. I ran
across a very positive assessment of this in one of the sailing
magazines recently.

On the interior, why not use teak oil. It lasts OK when not out in the
weather and gives that wonderful oiled look and feel (and smell until
it
dries). I did on my Alberg. All it took was a simple wipe down to clean
and
then another wipe down (wet rag / latex gloves) with the oil.
