I called the tech support at Horizon the person I spoke with suggested
you contact him about your problem. His e-mail address is
t.johnson at vxstdusa.com As one might expect he said that they had
good experiences with the WS150 which is what I am getting. I am not
discounting anything you reported and pass the address on with the hope
that maybe this guy can help solve the problem you have. I will count
myself among those who have been forewarned. Thanks again for the heads
up. I certainly hope my experience does not match yours. I am still
interested in what instruments you have as that might help me understand
your experience.

how old is the unit? Is it analogue or digital?

Dave the problem was with wind direction . from day to day the
instrument
never knew if the wind was from port or starboard . yes you can
calibrate
the thing from the deck if you have a mast head unit handy how many
times a day can you say linearization (common spelling) I have two
extras,
some times mast climbing twice or three a day is a little tiring if
your 65
years young. wind speed is close Gegrge K # 259 ----- Original Message
