[Alberg30] engine pan

I made a drip pan a few years back out of GRP (Fiberglass). Make a
corrugated cardboard/duct tape/bits and pieces template which fits like you
want it--mine extends all the way back to just forward of the transmission
coupling. Line with waxed paper and lay up the GRP. There is no suspension
at the rear; it sits quite happily against the hull, as long as it is wider
than the narrowest part of the bilge below the engine. The front is
suspended between the halves of a rubber hose slit lengthwise, each end of
which is attached to the rear mounting bolt of the Port/Stbd front engine
mounts. It is quite stable. You can cut out a oilsorb cloth with scissors
to fit whatever shape your pan ends up being--or just fold in place.

The edges of the pan need to be at least .5 or .75 inches high to account
for a reasonable angle of heel, perhaps more if your ticker leaks a lot.
