[Alberg30] Icebox

Thanks to those who responded to my question about furling systems.  Lots of good advice.  I am new to the Alberg 30 having bought hull #35 last summer.  Most of my time has been spent doing prep work for painting the topsides and deck.  Removing old 2-part poly that failed to adhere properly (in spots) is a job.  While I am re-doing the deck, I'm thinking about glassing over the cockpit icebox hatch.  Other than necessitating more beer runs below, are there problems I don't see?
