Hi Dave:
My boat has a Bukh 10 diesel. It's fabulous. It just ticks along like
a Singer sewing machine. It's steady and reliable and cheap, cheap,
cheap on fuel. It will push the boat along at 5-5.50 knots easily.
Speed will drop to 2.5-3.0 knots against lots of wind and waves - but so
will a C&C 34 in the same conditions.
Bristol Marine services my engine in Port Credit - and they get parts
with no trouble.
Bukh diesels are well regarded world wide.
The more you use the engine - the better it performs.
Good luck.
Taylor

Fellow A30ers
I am interested in purchasing an A30 at somempoint in time and presently
have several to look at. One of them is a '75 with a bukh 10hp diesel
engine. >From my reading it appears that this engine is somewhat
underpowered for the boat and difficult to get parts for. Could those
of you who have this engine or who have had one in the past please give
me some of your opinions about it. I don't really want to spend the
money to repower the boat. Should I still consider this boat (all other
things being equal)?
Thanks for any and all information and opinions
