[Alberg30] Hinged Mast Step

I've seen discussion recently on replacing the mast plate. Have any of you
installed a hinged plate allowing one to unstep the mast without a crane? I
realize it is a little dicey doing it yourself. I'd be interested in plans
(and/or source) for the base and experiences.
