Yes, Jim on Lindesfarne has installed an oblong vertical door, with ventilation slats, in the bulkhead at the forward end of the starboard settee. It is set close to the overhead lockers just below the deck as the cabin angles upwards. If memory serves me correctly the door is about 10" wide and 12 to 15 " high. When opened the shelves are in direct line and easily reached. This position still allowed him to install a bulkhead mounted cabin heater closer to the 'wall' that comes aft from the bulkhead.
