Yes, alot of people are afraid of that, but it can be removed.  Heat will
soften it nicely and/or chisels work fine to cut it.  I removed a pair of
winch bases I had put down with it, 10 inches in diameter and 5200 smeared
all over the surface.  AND I was able to re-use the bases.  101 is, I
believe, now out of production and it has quite an unpleasant odor.  If you
are really afraid of 5200, try the new 4200, it may be a little more
forgiving, but I personally ONLY use 5200.  When I caulk, I want it to STAY!
