Larry/Jim

Thanks for your input. Does anyone still use the roller reefing or have most
changed to slab reefing and a fixed vang. I am also assuming that you are
still using the same boom.

Bottomline Roller reefing is antiquated at best. I would strongly reccomend
converting to slab reefing and fixed vang mounts. Reef points cost about
$100-$150 to install in the sail. Money well spent in my opinion.

I had one of those vang straps thins on Quest, there should be a small pan
head screw hole in each of the metal parts of the strap. If it was used
properly there will be 2 small pan head screw holes in the boom that match
the holes in the metal plates. Believe it or not those little screws hold
the vang strap in position quite nice.

What I didn't like about the vang strap arrangement was that it disappeared
when the roller reefing was used.

Does anyone have a sketch, pictures, etc., of the running rigging for the
roller reefing and boom vang. I found an old vang assembly while cleaning
the boat that appears to clip onto the boom. The prior owner had taken it
off and I would like to find out how it was originally designed to operate.
Any further running rigging information would also be helpful.
