[Alberg30] FW: Boom Vang - Mainsail rigging

I had one of those vang straps thins on Quest, there should be a small pan head screw hole in each of the metal parts of the strap.  If it was used properly there will be 2 small pan head screw holes in the boom that match the holes in the metal plates.   Believe it or not those little screws hold the vang strap in position quite nice.   

What I didn't like about the vang strap arrangement was that it disappeared when the roller reefing was used.

Does anyone have a sketch, pictures, etc., of the running rigging for the
roller reefing and boom vang. I found an old vang assembly while cleaning
the boat that appears to clip onto the boom. The prior owner had taken it
off and I would like to find out how it was originally designed to operate.
Any further running rigging information would also be helpful.
