[Alberg30] Tiller delamination

One of this winters projests is ti fix a delaminating tiller. Has anyone 
had to do this before? I am thinking of just regluing the strips that 
are coming apart with a good wood glue before refinishing.
    going to either Varnish or Bristol finish. I know this is more work 
but I like the deep finish.
Has anyone used bristil finish? They claim more duradility than Varnish.
