I'd be more inclined to have a check valve here to prevent any possibility
of exhaust gases getting into the hull. I'd really prefer to have a ball
valve at the thru hull, but I know if I closed it, I'd forget to open it
before it was too late :)
the anti siphon valves I have seen (the original factory install, no
holding tank) it looks almost like a grease cup mounted on a cast elbow
which is itself mounted well above the waterline. That thing really has to
work if you are not closing the thru hull valves, since both the thru hull
and the head on the Alberg are below the waterline.
