I would recommend the following if you plan on buying a full keel boat.
Pacific Seacraft, Cape Dory, Island Packet, Baba, Pearson Vanguard,
Dickerson to mention a few. All of these boats are excellent in heavy seas
and are considered to be blue water capable.

I like what I've seen of the Alberg 30 design (not to mention his other
boats). My daydream is an Alberg 30 when I retire in 8 years. I won't be
able to afford custom built or new.

Unfortunately, living in Alberta and likely heading to the British Columbia
coast, I don't see a lot of ads for Alberg 30's for sale in British
Columbia.

Are there other designers whose work is more or less like Alberg's, with
seaworthy hulls, fuller keels rather than racing fins, etc., and whose boats
might well appear on our west coast? Any names I should be investigating or
looking for? Boat types or makes I should also consider?
