[Public-list] Anchor Handling

The other thing I can see you have that I don't is reasonable-sized chocks
for the bow breastlines.
That's something else to replace this winter......

Now come to think of it, I do have a cowling that must fit in that hole in
the foredeck!

Regarding the A4 - I can't be sure until I get it back together, but I think
it's the head gasket failed between 3 and 4.
I got some compression (via the thumb test) but not enough on 3 and 4 . The
engine would run in neutral and reverse but stall in forward. With the head
off, the valves and seats don't look terrific, but they seem to close.

After the parade the electronic iginition failed - that took a few weeks to
track down and fix. I finally got it all working two weeks ago and we had
her out Saturday running fine. Took her out Sunday and it started stalling
in forward. If I can get it running this weekend I will feel like the season
is saved!

Mike

shows our ventilator on the right-hand side. You can see the rode
doubled in the ventilator, as the anchor is off in that photo. The
shackle end of the rode is wrapped around the ventilator and inserted
back down it.

shows a screw-in plate where we have the ventilator.

I would not put the anchor in the lazarette (as we *used* to do). It's
a bit heavy to be that far aft.

Was the problem the head gasket? Or the valves? Hope to see you on the
water, soon!
