[Public-list] sail magazine!

Bob,
The pump is mounted on top near the front of the engine.
The only problem is the PTO for the hand crank is about 1/2" too long and
rubs against the engine compartment cover. I keep it off unless I need to
crank the engine.

Hey Bill,
What pump did you use to cool the open circuit (exhaust side) on your Atomic
4?
Did you use the Indigo pump mounted near the Accessory Drive Unit or was the
pump mounted near the front of the engine?
If you used the Indigo pump was there enough room to fit the pump without
cutting away the starboard lazzerette(sp) wall?
Thanks,
Bob

Patty,
My fresh water system (indigo electronics) is mounted on the forward
bulkhead in the starboard cockpit locker. It works great.

I just learned that me and my crew's picture (along with the commodore and
rear commodore) is in the July issue of Sail Mag. Apparently it's the story
about the Dauphin Island Regatta and my winning the sexist perpetual trophy
of being the fastest all girl crew. Hope I can locate a magazine!
Also, when I had no water flowing out my A4, after tracking the problem
first to salt crud in the thermostat housing (I don't use a thermostat) I
finally found an exhaust manifold full of salt crystallization. I took the
exhaust elbow off and just dug around with some copper wire and leaving the
elbow off, turned the engine on and what a bunch of crud came out of there!
I hooked the elbow back up and continued to have this crud flowing out until
it finally cleared up. Been thinking about a freshwater system but don't
know where I would put it.
