[Public-list] Shaft removal

At the gearbox end the shaft goes into two flanges that are bolted together with 6 or 8 bolts,I cant remember exactly how many.There is also a square headed bolt perpendicular to the shaft through one of the flanges.To remove the shaft is is necessary to undo all the bolts and seperate the flanges or will removing the square headed bolt alone allow the shaft to come out?
