Peter, Stephen, et al,
Last summer when we went to Bermuda, we used a Sangean world band radio
(model 909 I think), which I connected to the Metz weatherfax antenna (
http://www.landfallnavigation.com/ecr201.html ) using adapters. One of my
crew, connected his computer to the output of the radio and by using JVComm,
we were able to receive the weather fax broadcasts OK (usually). Tuning and
noise level are critical. It was the plan, and it worked!!
There's no reason you couldn't do the same on an Alberg (albeit the Alberg
that accompanied us and was equipped the same way never received the faxes.
That's a whole different story)
Regards

> I am using a laptop and communications receiver with about 10m wire as an
antenna to receive weatherfax images here in the U.K.The software is
JVcomm. This is a new venture for me so I am on a vertical learning curve. The
images I am getting are reasonable with the wire run out of an upper window
to a nearby tree. I would like what simple antenna arrangement would give
good results on Tait Tait or any other useful tips for receiving weatherfax
on board.
