One of my friends was racing prams in this regatta Sunday and saw this
whole event happen (apparently right on the starting/finish line):

Museum's skipjack sinks during regatta

A 93-year-old skipjack that capsized during a weekend regatta remains
marooned in the Rappahannock River near Orchard Point and the mouth of
the Corrotoman River.

None of the eight crew members aboard the Claud W. Somers was injured
when the boat sank near the conclusion of Sunday's Turkey Shoot Regatta
near Yankee Point Marina in Lancaster County.

The boat, a restored 42-foot skipjack built in 1911, did not sustain
serious damage and has been towed into shallow water out of the path of
commercial traffic, said Cara Sutherland, director of the Reedville
Fishermen's Museum. The museum owns the skipjack.

No one is sure what caused the sinking, Sutherland said.

During exploratory dives Monday, the crew's personal belongings were
removed. Now attention turns to retrieving the boat and getting it home
safely, Sutherland said.
