If you are going around Florida I understand that with an Alberg-sized 
boat that you can take the St. Lucie canal  on the east coast into Lake 
Okeechobie and  a river to Ft. Meyers, cutting off at least a couple of 
days going around Key West. A friend brought his boat up from the west 
coast of Florida via that route about five years ago.
