I plan to replace my old gas engine and I want to be open to all
options.  One that I am considering is an electric drive.  The following
link leads to a demonstration that is pretty interesting by a
manufacturer in Sweden that runs like any electric engine, but recharges
the batteries when the boat is sailing.
