[Public-list] rope life lines

I read that article and at the time needed to replace my lifelines. I 
tried it back then and am still using the same lines. I think they are 
3/16th's" double-braid (that I was going to use for light air sheets) 
for the length and then the article explained how to tie a shorter 
section loops on one end so you could adjust for the stretch over time. 
They will probably last another year or so until I can get the time to 
put on "real" lifelines. They were white with red flecks and now are 
totally white. A little wear at the upper shroud but I put a 2" wrap of 
tape there and it's fine. Lots of comments about being "different" but 
they look good. I just say, "Didn't you know that this is what the 
cruisers are doing now" and they stop talking about me!
