[Public-list] Opening Ports - V berth

Mike,

Not a bad price either. I have to replace my ports anyway so I'm looking
for something that opens. In summer, there's no such thing as too much
ventilation.

Hey Dave,

I don't know where to purchase the opening ports for the A30. They we
standard equipment in the head and optional items for the forward cabin
that
could be ordered when the boat was being built. I have seen several
boats
with them in the forward cabin. My boat has fixed ports so we must rely
on
ventalation coming through the forward hatch. I was unhappy with the
'traditional' wind scoop because it was constantly collapsing, so I
researched an alternative product that works great. It is called a
breeze
booster and can be found at http://www.breezebooster.com/. They also
sell a
screen that drops over the entire scoop that keeps the bugs out. We've
been
very happy with this, it is like having air conditioning [well..sort of]
but
it channels a lot more air through the cabin than a couple of small
opening
ports would.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get opening ports ( like the one
in
the head) for the v-berth? My desire is to purchase something that would

just fit in. I would like to avoid cutting old fiberglass or building up
new
fiberglass. That probably means going to the original source if they are

still in business. I would like to improve the ventalation in the
v-berth
and think that this would work. If not, maybe making a custom screen for
the
hatch is the only reasonable option.

Thanks for anything anyone can contribute.
