[Public-list] Forward hatch cover replacement

For my next big project I want to replace the forward hatch cover. I think what I want to do is install something like the kind Bomar makes that are stainless steel or aluminium.  They seal water tight like a submarine and you can easily open them to different amounts of openings and lock in that position. Has anyone installed this type of hatch cover and does anyone know if Bowmar or some other company makes one that will fit in the existing hole without having to cut the fiberglass? Any suggestions?
