[Public-list] Rudder cracked

It is all one piece. The rudder is fiberglassed around the rudder post, and I believe there are some horizontal straps attached to the rudder post glassed inside of the rudder.

  Dear Listers,
                    How exactly is the rudder connected to the pipe that 
  runs up to the helm? Mine seems to be attached to two deep flanges that 
  are bolted to the cheeks of the rudder. If that is all that holds the 
  thing in place, could one perhaps simply unbolt the flanges and slip the 
  rudder out without having to dig a pit under the whole thing? Regards
