[Public-list] Rudder cracked

Ratty,

the other thing you've got to do is take the prop and shaft off before 
dropping the rudder.  I didn't and over stressed the stuffing tube bond to 
the hull which led to a leak which took a few years to figure out.  Blamed 
it on the stuffing in the tube, redid that to no avail, next came a more 
careful inspection by the person who bought it and I think he got it under 
control by rebedding.  With the prop and shaft off everything will drop real 
easy.
