It can be replaced with the engine in the boat. We did this with a
plastic tank from tempo - same place, same size. Probably averted a
catastrophe as the tank was on the verge of developing leaking.

I had the engine out for an overhaul by Moyer Marine, so I used the
opportunity to replace the tank. I've heard that the tank can be removed
with the engine in place, but I can't confirm that.
