When I rewired the mast of Revolution, I made up a wire bundle which contained all the necessary wires for the electrics on the mast, and their grounds. The mast was laying horizontal on the ground, and the bundle of wires was stretched out at the foot of it. Proceeding along the bundle, I alternated 3' strips of foam pipe insulator enclosing the wires, and then heavy-duty wire ties, 3 in a group, with their tails pointing out, for almost the entire length of the bundle. Then I pulled this up into the mast from the butt towards the top. It's weight is held by a separate piece of rope which is woven through the bundle & then looped over a large existing thru-bolt at the top of the mast. 
This has worked out very well, as there is no wire noise at all, regardless of how much the boat rocks and rolls.

I am trying to re-route the wiring in the mast so that I can reduce the clonking noises. Any ideas?
