[Public-list] Stern Tube Hose Diameter

If memory serves me correctly...one side is 1-1/2" and the other is 1-3/8". 
There is special hose made with many, many layers of reinforcement that are 
specifically made as stuffing box hoses. Doesn't help much with the diameter

I seem to recall that there was some discussion recently regarding the
diameter of the stern tube hose.  There was mention that the outside
diameter of the stern tube was slightly different than that of the
stuffing box.  Anybody out there recall the correct hose diameter and any
suggestions as to a source for bulletproof hose material.  I plan to have
my engine out soon and want to replace this while it's accessible. Thanks
