On my boat I have 3 Austrailian (Barlow and no longer
available) wire rope winches.  These came with the boat
.  Two of these were used for the main sail furling
when I had it and the 3rd as a headsail furling line
winch.  Each one has a clamping type clutch to hold the
wire taught when the sail is hoisted.
